PALM OIL.

 

  • An Italian research evidence that #palmoil can cause pancreatic problems and pave the way to diabetes type 2. It is into a protein, the p66Shc, the cause of diabetes type 2. The discovery was made by researchers of Italian ‘University of Bari Department of Endocrinology led by Professor Francesco Giorgino with the collaboration of the University of Pisa and Padua by the Italian Society of Diabetology and published in Diabetologia. The protein destroys pancreatic beta cells that produce insulin and this causes the inability of the body to assimilate the sugars. Professor Georgie, explains Professor of Endocrinology and metabolic diseases at the University of Bari Aldo Moro and coordinator of the Scientific Committee of Sid: The fatty acid that is better able to increase this protein, called palmitic acid or palmitate, which is particularly present in palm oil. So there is a relationship with some eating habits that make us understand how fat intake should be very carefully considered avoiding these oils, and preferring olive oil. Palmitate, fatty acid is also found in butter, cheese, milk and meat but in lower percentages than palm oil and which causes repeated damage to the pancreatic islets and pancreatic beta cells that produce insulin which can lead to onset of Type 2 diabetes.
