#Comfortfood is traditional food which often provides a nostalgic or sentimental feeling to the consumer and is often characterized by a high carbohydrate level and simple preparation.

Nostalgia is a sentimentality  for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations, our mum food when we was child..

The nostalgic element most #comfortfood has may be specific to either the individual or a specific culture.

Comfort foods may be consumed to positively pique emotions, to relieve negative psychological effects or to increase positive feelings.

In one study of American preferences, “males preferred warm, hearty, meal-related comfort foods (such as steak, casseroles, and soup), while females instead preferred comfort foods that were more snack related (such as chocolate and ice cream).

Younger people preferred more snack-related comfort foods.

Comfort food consumption has been seen as a response to emotional stress, consequently, as a key contributor for the obesity.

Further studies suggest that consumption of comfort food is triggered in men by positive emotions, and by negative ones in women.

Food or dishes that pervade a sense of pleasure those who consume them, fulfilling an emotional need and are known to the feeling of well-being that give the body. The English adjective “comfort” which means, the capacity of food to comfort, console, cuddle and restore.

For Italians the comfort food is that bit full of memories, that emotion that reappears stronger than ever as soon as you taste the dish of the hear, of your mum or grandmother.
It is a flat, a food or beverage that brings a feeling of nostalgia and reassurance.

Typically it is the food of childhood or tied to a person, a place or a happy time. The grandmother’s cake, for example, but also the noodles mom, aunt or meatloaf zucchini flan. Everything can be comfort food, in all cultures and different parts of the world.

A memory, a feeling, an emotion tied to the palate that makes us travel within our hearts and gives us a hug, gives us well-being, but careful not to abuse it.
